Mixed Media Art
I paint mixed media art on paper, because it's fast and it looks great. It simultaneously frees my mind up and spurs creativity, because it doesn't take a lot of focus.
I use a mixture of oils, watercolor, and ink.
The process: First the paper is cut and sketched; then I apply the oil paint as either highlights, shadows, or both; next is filling in the empty spaces with watercolor; the watercolor beads off of the oil and settles into the paper; finally, I apply outlines with acrylic ink. When it dries it is put into a plastic sleeve with some rigid backing.
The mixed media pieces are painted in batches and listed in batches.
On average each mixed media painting takes 38 minutes.
